Joanna is a London based theatre and film director and producer. She is the founder of The Feathers of Daedalus Circus www.featherscircus.uk and also a free lance acrobat, aerialist and artist.

Joanna has a 1st class hons degree in Art History from Cambridge University. It was whilst studying here that she began directing and producing theatre. On graduating Joanna founded her circus and arts company The Feathers of Daedalus Circus . Through Feathers Joanna has directed and produced 7 circus theatre shows, 3 short films and 2 exhibitions in the past 5 years whilst achieving 5 Arts Council England grants. Joanna is a cofounder of female led Scottish circus company Sonder Circus http://sondercircus.co.uk/ and does free acrobatic and aerial work. Joanna was an elite gymnast as a child competing nationally and internationally before training in circus at the National Centre for Circus Arts in London and Circocan in Brazil. In recent years she has performed for Sonder Circus and Shotgun Carousel.

Joanna also directs and designs music videos for London based indie artist NowEx and has also worked in costume design, designing for Emmy nominated film In The Cold Dark Night. Finally, Joanna is an internationally exhibited artist and has had her paintings on display in galleries in India, Brazil and Japan.

Joanna graduated with an MA in film producing from the National Film and Television School in March 2023. Since then she has been working at Adventure Pictures alongside Oscar nominated Sally Potter and Christopher Sheppard (Orlando, The Party, Ginger and Rosa) on various upcoming feature film and music projects. Joanna continues to produce and direct short films and theatre and has various of her own feature projects in development. In real life Joanna tries not to refer to herself in the third person.
